I often receive requests for passport photos. Of course I could take them, but you really don't want to pay a portrait photographer to take a photo which you could most likely ask a friend to take. (But please bear me in mind if you are looking for some beautiful professional photos of yourself or your family.)
For a UK passport you can log on to the government website https://www.gov.uk/photos-for-passports where you can find the rules around taking a photo with your mobile phone or camera. The good thing here is that when you upload the image it will tell you how likely it is that you have taken the image under the correct conditions.
Alternatively, if you don't want to do it yourself, there are places where you can have the your passport photo taken for you in Crawley. You will need to get a code with your photos for a digital version of it, to use for an online passport application. These people/booths should know what is required so it minimises the risk of your photo not being accepted.

In Crawley there are photo booths and shops where you can have your photo taken and receive a code for the online application form.
For example:
Timpson, Sainsbury's. West Green
Timpson, County Mall
Tesco Hazelwick
ASDA Pegler Way
These places can accommodate passport photos to be taken at time of writing. Always read through what is required on the relevant government page, before you start. Not all countries have the same requirements for their passports.
Happy Holidays!
